Habits: The Key to Success

Do you realize that 95% of what we do when we work are done subconsciously? The way we approach our job and  the activities that we do are all controlled by the habits we have formed over the years. When we perform  a new habit the first time , it is like a fragile thread. When that habit is repeated over and over, those combined threads form into a strong cable. So you understand, that once the habit is formed over time, it becomes tough to break (just like a strong cable).

Did you realize that we has sales professionals often battle the same  challenges , year after year? Many of us  make the same resolutions in  every New Year.
What do you seem to be repeating on a consistent basis that you wish were different? Is it lack of activity, lack of apt sets, lack of lead generation, lack of sales,  lack of organization or maybe it's the way you think or react?

The key component here  that dictates your success are the habits you have formed. Are your habits helping you or hindering you? What habits do you need to stop? What new one do you need to start?

There are four keys to success in developing good habits.

Key number one is to be aware and check out  your habits. Take time to step back and analyze consciously how you do and think towards the activities with your career .

Key number two is to replace a bad habit with a good habit. When you stop a bad habit, it is critical to fill that void with a good one.

Key number three is to consciously do the good habit consistently for 30 days. After 30 days,  it starts to become part of your subconscious. Becomes automatic. Must careful not to slide back to old habits.

Key number 4 is to assess how the new habit has impacted your desired results and make appropriate adjustments.

Here is something I read this morning regarding habits:

 Food for Thought...
I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest asset or heaviest burden.
I will push you up to success or down to disappointment.
I am at your command.
Half the things you do might just as well be turned over to me,
For I can do them quickly, correctly, and profitably.
I am easily managed; just be firm with me.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a
machine and the intelligence of a person.
You can run me for profit, or you can run me for ruin.
Show me how you want it done. Educate me. Train me.
Lead me. Reward me.
And I will then...do it automatically.
I am your servant.
Who am I?
I am a habit.

Top sales performance is 80 percent mental and 20 percent talent (which by the way can be learned).

This information gives you the mental edge-use it.

Have a great day and be sure to get in the habit of helping 2-3 businesses each and every day!
